The CAAC suspends 7 flights to China

Cancelled Flights

On February 7, the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) announced suspension against the following SEVEN flights:

  • Air France flight AF198 from Paris to Shanghai
  • Aeroflot flight SU220 from Moscow to Guangzhou
  • Air Canada flight AC25 from Vancouver to Shanghai
  • Mahan Air flight W581 from Tehran to Guangzhou
  • Turkish Airlines flight TK72 from Istanbul to Guangzhou
  • China Eastern flight MU232 from Colombo to Shanghai
  • Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8146 from Bangkok to Chengdu

On January 28, 7 passengers on flight AF198 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, AF198 got suspended for 2 weeks starting February 14.

Flight SU220 had 7 passengers on January 29, and 21 passengers on February 5 that tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, SU220 got suspended for 6 weeks starting February 14.

On January 29, 9 passengers on flight AC25 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, the Saturday flight of AC25 got suspended for 2 weeks starting February 14.

On January 31, 12 passengers on flight W581 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, W581 got suspended for 4 weeks starting February 28.

On February 2, 11 passengers on flight TK72 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, TK72 got suspended for 4 weeks starting February 21.

On January 29, 7 passengers on flight MU232 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, MU232 got suspended for 2 weeks starting February 14.

On February 2, 11 passengers on flight 3U8146 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Because 3U8146 is an award flight of 3U3714 (from Mueang Chiang Rai to), the CAAC decided to cancel 3U8146 and suspend 3U3714 for 4 weeks starting February 21.
