The CAAC suspends 20 flights to China

Cancelled Flights

On March 21 and 22, the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) announced suspension against the following TWENTY flights:

  • Malaysia Airlines flight MH376 from Kuala Lumpur to Guangzhou
  • Asiana Airlines flight OZ303 from Seoul to Changchun
  • Jeju Air flight 7C8501 from Seoul to Weihai
  • Iraqi Airways flight IA473 from Baghdad to Guangzhou
  • Philippine Airlines flight PR314 from Manila to Tianjin
  • Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9032 from Seoul to Shenzhen
  • Asiana Airlines flight OZ323 from Seoul to Chengdu
  • China Southern flight CZ3062 from Seoul to Guangzhou
  • China Southern flight CZ628 from Tokyo to Shenyang
  • Air France flight AF382 from Paris to Tianjin
  • Kuwait Airways flight KU419 from Kuwait to Guangzhou
  • Neos flight NO946 from Milan to Tianjin
  • Shandong Airlines flight SC4088 from Seoul to Qingdao
  • China Eastern flight MU5042 from Seoul to Jinan
  • Air China flight CA124 from Seoul to Beijing
  • China Southern flight CZ308 from Amsterdam to Guangzhou
  • Lucky Air flight 8L802 from Bangkok to Kunming
  • China Southern flight CZ3070 from Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou
  • Air China flight CA842 from Vienna to Beijing
  • Qingdao Airlines flight QW9902 from Seoul to Qingdao

On March 7, 5 passengers on flight MH376 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, MH376 was suspended for two weeks starting April 11.

On March 8, 8 passengers on flight OZ303 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, OZ303 was suspended for two weeks starting May 9.

On March 9, 9 passengers on flight 7C8501, 7 passengers on flight IA473, 5 passengers on flight PR314, and 6 passengers on flight ZH9032 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result:

  • 7C8501 was suspended for two weeks starting March 28 and the award flight 7C8905 (from Seoul to Harbin) got canceled.
  • IA473 was suspended for two weeks starting March 28.
  • PR314 was suspended for two weeks starting April 18.
  • ZH9032 was suspended for two weeks starting March 28.

On March 10, 6 passengers on flight OZ323, 5 passengers on flight CZ3062, and 5 passengers on flight CZ628 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result:

  • Because OZ323 is an award flight of OZ303, OZ323 is already canceled since Mar 14 and OZ303 is suspended for two weeks starting May 23.
  • Because CZ3062 (from Seoul to Guangzhou) is an award flight of CZ682, CZ682 is suspended for two weeks starting Mar 28 and CZ3062 is canceled.
  • Because CZ8102 is an award flight of CZ628, CZ628 is suspended for two weeks starting Mar 28 and CZ8102 is canceled.

On March 11, 12 passengers on flight AF382, 12 passengers on flight KU419, 12 passengers on flight NO946, 6 passengers on flight SC4088, 5 passengers on flight MU5042, and 5 passengers on flight CA124 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result:

  • AF382 is suspended for 4 weeks starting March 28.
  • KU419 is suspended for 4 weeks starting April 11.
  • NO946 is suspended for 4 weeks starting March 28.
  • SC4088 is suspended for 2 weeks starting March 28.
  • MU5042 is suspended for 2 weeks starting March 28.
  • CA124 is suspended for 4 weeks starting April 11.

On March 12, 6 passengers on flight CZ308, and 11 passengers on flight 8L802 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result:

  • CZ308 is suspended for 2 weeks starting March 28.
  • 8L802 is suspended for 4 weeks starting March 28.

On March 13, 9 passengers on flight CZ3070, and 11 passengers on flight CA842 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result:

  • CZ3070 is suspended for 2 weeks starting April 25.
  • CA842 is suspended for 4 weeks starting March 28.

Flight QW9902 had 5 passengers on March 12, and 6 passengers on March 13 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

As a result, QW9902 was suspended for 4 weeks starting March 28.
